Bio

Nadia Connolly is a mixed media artist based in Berkeley California and Sacramento California. They work primarily in oil paint and graphite, with forays into textile work. They address issues of identity and trauma using surrealist imagery in portraiture. Their textile work explores experiences of uncomfortable embodiment, and how past experiences shape our subjective experiences of the present. A major focus in their work is portraiture and likeness. The experience of getting to spend extended time with the subject of a portrait informs the surrealist content of their pieces.​
